Sleep!

The big news from around here is that for the second time this week, Sam slept a whole 6 hours in a row last night! yea! He didn't want to go to bed at 8pm when I tried to put him in the bassinet, but if he'll sleep 6 hours every night, I'm okay with a later scheduled bedtime for now! also, this has allowed me to help beat off a cold that tried to attack me yesterday (Tuesday) morning (well, along with the 5 liters of water, 4 huge mugs of tea, and a 90 minute nap in the middle of the day that Sam allowed me to take with him). We'll see if he can continue this sleeping trend, but for now I am just happy for each night that he does that....
I'm speculating that he may have slept so much because he had such an exciting afternoon and evening without many naps. I had to go out for a couple hours for a meeting, so Isaac came to babysat. Sam was obviously totally excited to have Isaac here and not at all unhappy to see me go:

Later in the evening, Mary and Dave came to visit us and meet Sam:

I'm unhappy that there is no picture of Mary which was a mistake - she looks great and we can't wait to meet a new baby friend at the beginning of next year!

In other news, Sam loves his new mobile

He's totally transfixed by the rotating toys and seems to like the music. We think he's a music lover already - whatever the swing and bouncing seat play for him - plus a lot of James Taylor which seems to put him to sleep (or maybe it's that plus the swaying? who knows)....

PS trip to the podiatrist has been put off as we 'monitor' the poor little big toe...
